1. Three builds to pick from

These are three suggestions, all for level 50 with the BIS (plus the Gun Store and Chop Shop at level 5), SPD and CUN at 5: one leaning on attack, one in the middle and one more defensive. Test them in the Calculator.

Attack
140/120/0

STR / DEF / STA
HP 554 · hit power 1,405 · defense 924

Middle
100/100/60

STR / DEF / STA
HP 614 · hit power 1,303 · defense 873

Defensive
60/150/50

STR / DEF / STA
HP 604 · hit power 1,201 · defense 1,000

  • Attack (140/120/0): the highest hit power of the three. With no Stamina, it has the least HP.
  • Middle (100/100/60): equal STR and DEF, and the most HP of the three.
  • Defensive (60/150/50): the highest defense of the three, the hardest to hit. It hits less.

Hit power and defense with the BIS, the Gun Store and Chop Shop at level 5 and the Mansion in a tier 3 district, no drugs and no megastructure.

2. Build yours

Move the three: the points are the level 50 ones, so when you raise one, the other two split what's left.

With the BIS, the Gun Store and Chop Shop at level 5 and the Mansion in a tier 3 district, no drugs and no megastructure. The chance is the one the game shows. To fine-tune with your gear, your house and your opponent, use the Calculator.

3. The stats

How do I earn and spend points?
  • Each level gives 5 training points. You spread them across STR, DEF, SPD, CUN and STA on the Training screen.
  • STR, DEF, SPD and CUN start at 5; STA starts at 0. At level 50 you have 250 points to spread.
  • STA is your HP: +1 per point. Items with “all stats” also give STA.
What does each stat do in a fight?
StatWhat it does
STROnly your chance to hit. It gives no HP and doesn't raise damage.
DEFMakes the other guy miss more when he attacks you.
STAHP: +1 per point. It never enters the roll; it's what keeps you standing.
SPDA bit of hit chance and a bit of defense. Half a point in STR and half in DEF give more.
CUNA bit of hit chance, much less than STR. Trained CUN also gives crit: +0.05% per point above 5, up to +5%.

The damage of each hit comes from PvP Power and the weapon, never from stats.

Does missing cost a lot?

It does. Whoever attacks and misses takes the automatic counter from the defender, calculated with no dice roll and which can also crit: 20 × (1 + his PvP Power). With the BIS that's 46 damage. That's why the worst exchange is you miss and he hits: with his Sawed-Off, that's 125 damage in a single exchange. That's why zeroing STR doesn't pay off: whoever hits little misses a lot, and every miss is a counter in your back.

How do I redo my points (respec)?
  • What it costs: the first paid respec costs $4,000 per trained point. At level 50 that's $1,000,000.
  • The ladder: the second costs ×4, the third ×24 and the fourth ×192. The ladder only resets with Gold. One respec every 24 h.
  • Never while your gang is at war (the game won't let you). If you're changing for a war, change before the declaration.
  • Leveling up doesn't need a respec: the new points go to normal training.

4. Skills

Seven skills work in the Corner duel and in the territory war, and you equip 2 in Character. What each one does, what it costs to level up and the combos worth using are on the Skills page.

5. Items: what counts and what doesn't in a fight

Counts in a fightDoesn't count in a fight
STR, DEF, SPD, CUN, STA, “all stats”, HP and PvP Power Crime success, reward, arrest risk, bail, hospital bill, overdose risk, energy, business income, PvP theft loss
What does PvP Power do?

It multiplies three things at once: your chance to hit, your defense and your hit. If both sides have the same PvP Power, it cancels out on the chance; on damage, never. It comes from gear and drugs, you can't train it. It isn't a stat: the stats are STR, DEF, SPD, CUN and STA.

And the house and drugs?

A house in a tier 2 district gives +5% and tier 3 gives +10% to your chance to hit and your defense (not to HP). A megastructure, the Gun Store (STR and PvP Power) and the Chop Shop (SPD) count as gear (see Glossary).

An active drug counts, and it counts a lot. Adrenaline Shot gives +22% PvP Power, +8 STR and +8 SPD while it lasts. The math on this page is without drugs, because not everybody goes in high.

Heads up: if you don't have the cash to pay for a possible overdose, don't use it. And never take drugs after the war has started: an overdose sends you to the hospital, and whoever goes to the hospital is out of the war and counts against your side.
Hit strength and defense = (trained points + items + active drugs) × house bonus × (1 + PvP Power) HP = 100 + 5 × level + Stamina (trained + from items) + HP from items

The hit formula, with the cap and the crit, is on PvP.

6. How to test your build in the Calculator

  1. Press one of the three builds (attack, middle or defensive): the button swaps STR, DEF and STA (SPD and CUN at 5), puts the level back at 50, sets the house to the Mansion in a tier 3 district and the megastructure to "None", removes the drugs, puts the BIS in all 15 slots and the Gun Store and Chop Shop at level 5. The opponent doesn't change.
  2. Then adjust whatever differs from your character: level, points, house, megastructure, business functions, drugs and gear.
  3. Pick who you want to measure up against: the three builds, or an opponent you build yourself.
  4. Respec before the war, never during.
